What: A knighting ceremony!
When: December 20th
Where: The Lakes in Willow
Content Warnings: None yet but will mark appropriately.
[Ceremony]
It’s a quiet, frosty day by the lakes in Willow. The view is peaceful and serene. A perfect place to meditate but also to have a knighting ceremony. This was the spot that he wanted it to be as it held so much meaning for him.
Obi-Wan is there by the lakeshore with his friend and roommate, Ezra. Along with the people that the young Jedi had personally invited. Dressed in his usual robes, though they somehow look tidier and a touch more formal somehow. His long braid draped over his shoulder. While his master couldn’t be here in person, Qui-Gon’s lightsaber is at his side. The stone that had been given to him also held tightly in his hand. Obi-Wan having had to make a trek out to Cruel Summer to find it again. Between those two special items, he liked to think his master was there in spirit.
At the appropriate time he would then kneel while Ezra said his words. Obi-Wan’s brand then being severed, symbolically officiating his transition from Padawan Learner to Jedi Knight. It’s a simple affair, but Obi-Wan is deeply grateful to have the chance to go through it, and to have his closest friends witness it.
[Not A Party]
As a Jedi who was not used to parties and already attended a few this month, he didn’t want to make a big deal out of his knighting. However, everyone who came will be welcomed to join them back at his and Ezra’s apartment for a sort of reception. There’s food and drink but it’s casual and meant to be a relaxed atmosphere. Come hang out, talk, and enjoy some food! Totally not a party!
You can be sure there will be plenty of tea, caf, and even hot chocolate. Plus plenty of snacks and appetizers that are some favorites among those that live there, such as that big sic-six-layer cake. There’s definitely a story behind that cake if anyone cares to ask. Obi-Wan will be happy to answer any questions about the ceremony or Jedi things when he makes his rounds, personally thanking each of his friends for coming.
